Cast is top notch, the direction is sensible and well crafted (long tracking shots that end with reverse angle) and the writing is nuanced and also very well made, tackling issues like corruption, racism and justice (the movie sadly didn't really age on this). I highly recommend it (but there is no Dolph material at all in it though  ).

On US Blu-ray soon ;)

Back to MOW, I finally found evidence that the original Sayles script dates from 1986 (I thought so but wasn't sure).

I do not remember seeing that in the movie...

Good to see the comments pointing out the cover tho. Let's hope Retro Gold will keep this sort of feedback in mind for future releases (they probably wont, lol).

They likely won't since they've been doing this sort of covers for a while now...

What's also strange is they're really limited so I don't even know how they can break even...

So here are their 4 MOW versions:

Yeah, I highly doubt it. But at least for each film they also release more normal looking versions.

It's not too strange. Mediabooks (and similar packaging like this, like hartboxes) have a big collectors market in Germany. They're often very limited, and I know some collectors love getting each artwork variation (they even offer this option on Retro Gold's site).
